There was so much drama in the Gucci family, I’m surprised they didn’t make a telenovela from it.
Gucci was founded in 1921 by Guccio Gucci, a family ran store selling imported luggages and leather goods.
In 1953 they release the Gucci loafers, establishing global recognition. That same year Guccio passes away leaving his company to his three sons.
Feeling excluded Grimalda, Guccio's only daughter, sues the family and loses.
In 1974 Vasco passes away, leaving Aldo and Rodolfo in charge. Aldo splits his shares with his three sons Giorgio, Roberto, and Paolo.
In the 80s Paolo sues the family for now being able to use the family name.
In 1983, Maurizio inherits half of the company. Driven by greed, he seeks help from Investcorp to buy out his family. Under his leadership they lose millions, and Investcorp buys out Maurizio.
In 1995 Maurizio’s ex wife, Patrizia Reggiani sends a hitman to get rid of him.
